A few months ago I started experimenting with acrylic paints and mediums. The versatility and variety of the medium intrigued me.
Acrylic paints come in consistencies from water thin inks to solid (acrylic crayons), with full bodied gessos and thick building mediums that dry quickly – these characteristics seemed ideal for my venture into the 2D world of painting.
As you can see by my first attempts, my background as a sculptor and glass artist are influencing these works.
I especially like the ability to create depth by layering translucent colors and textures.
These are just a few examples – I’ll be posting… stay tuned.
